Allain Girouard M.D.

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr Allain Girouard has been on staff in the Orthopedic department at Flagler hospital for over 15 years. Prior to his work in Florida, Dr Girouard worked and Studied in Canada. His experience as an Emergency Room Physician at Dumont Hospital and Stella Marie de Kent hospital has attributed to his instinctual knowledge about injuries incurred from accidents relating to Orthopedics. Dr Girouard's Regional affiliations have included the St Johns County Medical Society, Jacksonville Spine Interest group, as well as St Johns County Special Deputy Sherriff in 2005. From Spinal Injuries to to Extremities care, Dr Girouard works closely with all our other physicians to make sure we get you back on your path to recovery. When Dr Girouard isn't busy treating patients, he is an avid alpine water skier and enjoys cycling. His sense of humor and the personal attention you will receive from him will put you at ease while our team works with you to find the best treatment plan to get you back to being healthy.



Mario Pereira M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Mario Pereira served in the US Army as an enlisted soldier in the first Persian Gulf conflict as a Chemical Weapons Specialist and a Combat Medic. Subsequently, Dr. Pereira attended SUNY at Buffalo for his undergraduate studies and obtained a BS in Physical Therapy. He then attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA and practiced his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Pereira then attended the renowned Texas Back Institute for his fellowship training in spine surgery with an emphasis in minimally invasive spinal surgery. Currently, Dr. Pereira is certified in the Synthes Prodisc (C and L) artificial disc replacements, kyphoplasty, and therapeutic/diagnostic injections. During his research in 2006, Dr. Pereira was awarded 2nd best research presentation at the 24th Annual Adrian E. Flatt Residents and Fellows Conference in Hand Surgery. Dr. Pereira affiliations include American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and North American Spine Society. Prior to joining Orthopedic and Neurosurgery partners he has worked at the Southwest Florida Spine Institute and the Advanced Orthopedic Center in Port Charlotte. Currently, Dr. Pereira is focused on outpatient spinal surgery with decreased recovery time, decreased pain, while maintaining the gold standard of the indicated procedure.
